Art historian, John Francis, our guest editor gives his weekly Top Culture Picks.

Moving from Chicago we head over to the snowy Swiss Alps and glamorous Gstaad. In this exclusive holiday resort we find Hauser & Wirth. You may well be familiar with the Hauser & Wirth Gallery and Garden in Somerset.

EXHIBITION ‘The Heart Has Its Reason’ by the grand dame of Modern Art, Louise Bourgeois, a particularly poignant exhibition as the American-French artist died in 2010.

BE ENTERTAINED by ‘How to peel an Orange’ (5 mins) - video of an interview by the well-known British critic Waldemar Januszczak for his Channel 4 series, ‘The Truth about Art’. Sculptor, painter and installation artist, Louise Bourgeois sits at her kitchen table in New York and tells a powerful and poignant story of her life as a child. Amusingly, at the same time, she peels an orange and makes an artwork! The results give an illuminating insight into Bourgeois, one of the most important and influential artists of the 20th Century.
