Talk - History of the Camden Town Group

3 June 2023

Details

Join us for a talk with co-curator Tim Craven.

On the last day of Paradise Found: New Visions of the Blackdown Hills, Tim will reflect on the themes of the exhibition and the history of the Camden Town Group including artists Robert Bevan, Stanislawa de Karlowska, Spencer Gore and Charles Ginner.

Between 1911 and 1925 the Blackdown Hills were a source of inspiration for members of the avant-garde painters of the Camden Town Group. They captured the ancient landscape and its particularity with the progressive French artistic approach of Cezanne, Gauguin and Van Gogh.
