Mikhail Karikis – exhibition and Climate Conversations talk

to

Our new exhibition Mikhail Karikis: Acoustics of Resistance opened with an inspiring Climate Conversations talk.

Guest speakers at the talk were Mikhail Karikis, Lara Goodband and Catherine Causley, East Devon District Council’s Climate Change Officer.

The first UK showing of Acoustics of Resistance, a new project by Mikhail Karikis focusing on the climate emergency and exploring listening as a form of climate care, solidarity and activism.

Combining archival visual material, climate modelling, experimental and folk music, the exhibition reflected on our collective responsibility and invited us to rejoice in the transformative power of sound and to tune into the sounds of nature and socio-political change.

The Climate Conversations series of talks aim to draw attention to the climate discussion by engaging with communities and raising awareness of climate issues through the medium of art.
